7 days in the life of....

Kate is silly...she is reading and it seems exercising?!

Thought for a minute about how to title this post and couldn't think of anything that really sums up the last week for us...it hasn't been bad, but trying at times. We have been fortunate to have fun visits from our grandparents, but have also had a sick household. We celebrated 15 months with strawberry muffins and a doctors appointment..not too much fun I know..we made up for it later that week. The appointment went well and Kate and Wright are doing great! The doctor was actually surprised at how well they are still eating and sleeping. He warned us that this may all change, but we feel really lucky to have such great babies! Their stats:
Kate weighs 21 lbs 4 oz and is 29.5 inches long
Wright weighs 26 lbs 4oz and is 30.5 inches long
They did ok with the shots, seemed more upset than last time so we enjoyed extra snuggles!

Within 24 hours Wright had a horrible cough, sounded like a dog bark with no fever and a terribly runny nose. It came on so fast that we thought it was a side effect of the immunizations. Kate seemed ok, but we knew she wouldn't be far behind him. They were lucky to spend the day with their gran and grandad (Dinkins)! On Friday they seemed better so we went to the aquarium with our friends Mary Martin and Ayers...and their mommy Ashley. They all enjoyed playing in the toddler room and seeing all the "fish"...our newest word!
Wright in the "boat" at the aquarium...not sure what to think about it
That evening we had friends over with their kids for pizza and then my parents came for the weekend! Kate and Wright were loving all the fun guests and extra playmates! My dad and Will put up their swing set which they LOVE!! Kate would swing for hours if we let her and Wright loves the slide. My mom and I sanded and painted my table from growing up for Kate and Wright to use. The chairs didn't make it, but the table is still in great condition. I am so happy that Kate and Wright are able to use something that my brother and I enjoyed! I have so many wonderful memories at that table. Kate and Wright love their table...They have tea at the table and have practiced coloring, Kate loves to look at books in her chair. They both want to stand in the chairs and understand no, but are definitely testing me. All in all a fun project weekend with gorgeous weather, fun wagon rides and lots of play!
Getting started.....
Finished!!!
So, on Friday evening Wright woke with a fever..not too high, but he hasn't had one before so we were concerned. Tylenol helped, but as the medicine wore off his fever would come back...it hovered around 101 to 102. Valentine's Day morning they both had horrible coughs and he still had a fever so we went back to the doctor. Both Kate and Wright tested positive for RSV which is a respiratory virus. My sweet little babies are on breathing treatments every 4 hours. The cold also resulted in an ear infection for both of them so we are also on an antibiotic, yes again different medicines different doses and now this time one is refrigerated and one not. We are also watching to ensure they don't become dehydrated since they are not eating/drinking as well so I created a medicine chart to keep up with everything. They were so good at the doctor's office and later getting the medicine. Even sick they loved opening their Valentines treats! Will's mom came in Tuesday morning to help us out..we are so appreciative! Even sick they are still fun to be around..Kate likes to put the breathing treatment mask on her baby doll and Wright walks over to the machine and waves bye bye to it..he is not a fan.
Kate quickly getting into her new chair..she loves her new table and baby stroller...and Wright's football and soccer ball. They have had a great time playing!
Not feeling great, but always interested in shoes
At this point we are ready to get better....so far their 15th month has been quite eventful!
