September Travels and Fun

September was quite a busy month for the Dinkins Family.
Finally the weather is cooling off which allows us much more time to enjoy outside! I am just not ready for it to get dark earlier. Fall brings football and it has been a great start to the season for our Clemson Tigers! Kate and Wright love to roar and shout "Go Tigers!!" We were able to go and visit my sister in the Upstate the weekend of the Clemson vs Florida State game. All the kids had a great time together and Will and I were able to go to the football game.

My parents and sister took all the kids to the Greenville Zoo
Kate and Bryce feeding the goat with my dad
Kate, Wright, & Taylor

We were able to get together with our friends that also live in the Upstate and have twins! Aven and Hudson were born a month after Kate and Wright so it is always fun to get the four of them together! Kim (their mommy) and I often share stories and advice about raising our babies. It took the kids a few minutes to warm up, but after some Elmo juice and snacks they were having fun together playing with the water table. Aven and Hudson were very kind to share their fun toys!
We tried to get pictures and I only came away with a few.....

We look forward to seeing them again soon!

First Day of School

As I type this I sigh (big sigh) of relief because today has ended and our first day of school went well! I have anticipated this morning, unsure of how I would feel taking (and leaving) Kate and Wright to their first classroom. I can't quite explain why I felt the sadness or anxiety leading up to today...I do work part time and leave them, I have left them overnight, and they have been in the church nursery, but today was different. Today was the first day of our next phase with Kate and Wright. Today went as expected, tears from all three of us and lots of hugs and kisses!

Thursday we were able to go and meet the teacher and see the classroom. Kate and Wright were very excited to go to school and were intrigued by all the classrooms and other kids. Their teachers are Ms. Tysh and Ms. Margaret

Love that they played together...that was the one reason I wasn't sad the entire time they were in school...knowing they have each other
They already have buddies in class which makes it easier; another set of twins Elizabeth and Riley who live in our neighborhood and another boy named Wright (didn't think we'd ever see that) who is in our playgroup
Wright loves a hat, he is saying "hat" in this picture

The below are from this morning:

Wright would not take off his sunglasses. He put them on before we left and didn't take them off until 9:30...when he settled down.

Kate loved carrying her bag...she did finally let me hang it up for her, but she carried it from the house all the way to her classroom...see below

Difficult to get a picture of them together, but this shows it all. A bit confused as to why we are leaving the house so early and why mommy and daddy are both still there fussing over them.
