Baby Dedication!

East Cooper Baptist Church
Our Pastor, Buster Brown with Wright
With Kate

We were so thankful to have our parents, grandparents, all of our siblings and their beautiful children and a few special friends join us for baby dedication last Sunday. It was a very special day - one that will never be forgotten because of all the wonderful events that transpired over the course of the weekend. Most importantly, this was the weekend that Wright & Kate were dedicated to Christ!

Cute pics at 4.5 months. They are becoming so alert and aware of each other!

Taylor was SO excited to hold and play with her "baby cake"
Before our walk with pa-pa (my dad) We have to keep that bright sun out of their eyes!
Both Wright and Kate can now roll to one side and usually end up rolling onto each other!

Kate was so happy sitting with her Gran (Will's mom)

So much, so much to be thankful for

Wright patiently waiting for his dinner of sweet potatoes!

Kate hoping that I won't feed her that yucky rice cereal again...once she sees the cereal she usually pulls her bib up over her mouth and smiles.

Kate in her first tutu....she really enjoys dressing up
It has been too long since my last post and I feel like so much has happened in the last few weeks! Kate and Wright are doing so well and continue to amaze us each day. A few fun updates:

Wright started solids about 2 weeks ago and really likes sweet potatoes! He doesn't care much for the rice cereal, but will eat it. Kate does not care for the rice cereal. Unfortunately, I mix it with their formula which is Nutramigen. For those of you familiar you can only imagine how bland it is. I am certain she will love sweet potatoes and other new foods, but we are having to wait to start her until she eats more formula. She is a very picky eater (surprise, surprise) so we are having to transition slowly to solids.

They are both rolling over from their tummy to their backs. Most of the time they do this in their crib.

Wright has cut his first bottom tooth and the other is about to break through. He did really well teething and only had a few rough days. I can't believe he is getting his teeth already!

They are both talking more and making such sweet noises. Kate has started to mimic me when I sing to her. We will post a video of it soon..it is extremely sweet!

Fun updates for Kate and Wright

What a busy and wonderful few weeks we have had! Kate and Wright are doing great. They are both growing and developing so much each day. It is funny because it seems like when one of them does something we celebrate the other wants to do something new as well! Wright surprised us Tuesday night and rolled over for the first time! He was so proud of himself and loved all the attention he received. Kate looked thoughtful for a few minutes and then decided to pull on her pink elephant toy and start the music! She then loved the cheering and attention from mommy and daddy! I need to be better about adding videos to the blog and will try to put a few on.

Last Saturday Mrs. Dinkins hosted a sip and see in Sumter. It was so nice! Kate and Wright were on their best behavior and looked precious in their gowns. They turned on the charm for all that visited with us! I have attached a few pictures of them that day.

Kate's new thing is sticking out her tongue..so cute!

Love how they hold hands

We celebrated 4 months earlier this week! We really like their pediatrician, Dr. Graham, and he was very pleased with their development.

Wright is 13 lbs 8 oz and 24 inches long

Kate is 12 lbs 6 oz and 24 1/2 inches long (she has been 1/2 inch taller since birth!!)

They enjoy playing on the activity mat together

In addition, we started cereal with Wright this weekend and will follow with Kate in another week or two. We recently had to change her formula and she has consistently been about 2 weeks behind him. It will be interesting and fun as we learn to adjust to the new eating! More to come.

They continue to sleep through the night which is wonderful. Thursday night was the first night in separate cribs and I gave myself a blister switching the monitor from A to B. Fortunately, we have two videos for the monitor so I can see them both. I thought they LOVED sleeping beside each other and that it would be hard for them, but Friday morning they had both turned and were spread out and sleeping peacefully! I think they are glad to have the extra room.
They really are the sweetest babies and are so good! Kate talks more than Wright and moves her hands more frequently. Wright just wants to move. He has started arching his back to get out of his boppy seat and uses his legs to move when laying on his tummy. He doesn't go anywhere quite yet, but he is definitely trying!

Jennifer, Matt and baby Thomas visited us today! We had so much fun with the babies and catching up with our friends. We attempted a walk to the dock and of course when we go outside it became extremely windy. Thomas and Kate enjoyed the double stroller while Wright was held by mommy in the bjorn.

I couldn't resist the bonnet although Kate doesn't look very happy to be wearing it...or she may be wondering who the new baby boy is beside her. Thomas enjoyed his stroll with Kate and Wright didn't miss the stroller..he is still adjusting.
Jennifer and I with our babies...we do look like tired new mommies!

16 weeks and first playdate

We had such a nice weekend with beautiful weather, although quite chilly and visiting with family and friends. We-We (my mom) came to visit which was so much fun! She babysat for us Saturday night so we could go to dinner with Hamilton and Sarah...thank you We-We!
Kate with We-We; she is getting so big and can hold her head up

We also had friends from the upstate visit and bring their new twin babies, Aven and Hudson! They are a month younger than Kate and Wright. Kim (their mommy) and I had so much fun through our pregnancies and now discussing all the fun and craziness of twins! Will and Hamp (their daddy) enjoyed comparing sleepless nights and diaper changing. Aven and Kate were interested in each other and enjoyed laying on the activity mat together. The boys were really only interested in eating! We look forward to many more play dates with them!

Wright was sleeping next to Hudson then Kate and Aven

This was taken after Kindermusik last Friday. They were both a bit sleepy. Wright has recently gone through a growth spurt and weighs over 13 lbs! There is a definite difference in weight for he and Kate now. He has also started arching his back and kicking when upset..hmmm and so it begins! Little Kate is getting used to her new formula and has started eating better. There were a few days where she wasn't finishing her bottle, but she just had to get used to the taste of her new food. Kate has started talking alot and Will seems to be worried that she will talk as much as me!

This was taken Monday morning. We kept waiting for them to wake up so we could snuggle before going to work, but they were sleeping soundly. They slept until 7:30 am..the lastest they have slept! Kate loves to snuggle close to Wright. We tried to move her head two times and she kept snuggling back to him. As you can see he loves to suck on his hand. They are sleeping so good at night. We put them down between 9 and 10 and they sleep through until anywhere from 5:30 to 7:30. Thank you Kate and Wright! Mommy and Daddy are very thankful for the sleep!
