Mother's Day Treasures

My first Mother's Day was incredibly special! Will and I took Kate and Wright to my parents house for the weekend and they did great traveling! We were both nervous not knowing what to expect. The weekend was fun and full of family time; a baby shower for my sister, Taylor's first ballet recital and dinner with my parents and grandparents. We are both so happy that our families are so involved with Kate and Wright! They are such lucky babies and not only have all 4 grandparents, but 3 great grandmothers and 2 great grandfathers!

Kate and Wright (with the help of Claire) made me my first homemade Mother's Day Treasure!

Sand molds of their little feet! Wright's are on the top and Kate the bottom. It is such a special gift!

Here are a few more recent pictures of Kate and Wright. They are getting much stronger sitting up. They can hold it for about 10 seconds before toppling to the side. Wright is rolling from tummy to back and back to tummy and back and forth...usually not caring what he is rolling onto (like Kate)! Kate likes to point her toes and roll her ankles..our little ballerina!

Playing together...Wright already tries to take toys from Kate. He may be stronger, but she is strong willed and doesn't let him without a fight.
I couldn't resist adding this one of Wright sleeping. So sweet!

First trip to the Beach!

Wright and me playing on the porch
We try to take a family stroll (Conrad included) in the evening to the dock by the house...enjoying a beautiful sunset!
Kate not enjoying the beach quite yet...she looked so precious though!!
Wright needed some shades..I took off his floppy hat to get a picture and it looks like I interrupted his relaxation...he is so cute in his bathing trunks!
Wright looks so much bigger than Kate in this picture..I think it is the angle, but we go to the doctor tomorrow for 6 month checkup so we will see!

Our first beach trip was a great experience! Kate and Wright really enjoy being outside and loved the wind on their face and the sand in their toes. Wright scrunches his little toes when his feet hit the sand and of course wanted to jump. Kate was slower about her excitement(see picture below), but once she was used to the new texture she smiled and made sweet coos. I didn't know what to expect taking them to the beach. I thought it may be too much..too much stuff to pack, too much to handle two babies, too much sand and too much sun, but we did great. We were able to get on the beach in one trip thanks to the Bob stroller. I took a blanket, toys, bottles, sunscreen, water, tent, more sunscreen, diapers....here are a few pictures of our bathing beauties enjoying the beach!
