Summer Fun

This summer is flying by and we are having so much fun! Kate and Wright have the most fun personalities and we love watching them!  They play so well together, but have different interests which is so fun to see develop. Wright loves playing catch and with his basketball, tennis ball, football...anything that he can throw in the air and try to catch! Kate loves to play with her babies, sing and dance! She sings to her food sometimes!  They both love to sing and know lots of words to the Disney Princess songs. Hearing them sing a song from Beauty and the Beast is the best!

Our favorite things to do this summer have been playing at the beach, in the pool and going to the aquarium. We have also loved going to the water park, children's museum and Little Gym. Oh and Kate always asks to go to "restaurants"....

Wright enjoys playing at home and Kate wakes up ready to go...if you know Will and me then that probably sounds quite familiar!

We are also transitioning to O'Quinn a local preschool four days a week which has been harder for me than the kids. I am so glad that they are having fun and enjoy going. Kate is more excited to arrive than Wright, but he told me yesterday that he "loves Mrs. Dodds" so I think he is adjusting! My little flirt...

Their first day on the way Kate looked over to Wright and said, "you hold my hand?" and he said, "yes, sister I will hold your hand" Heart melted.

Potty time

Kate and Wright have had little interest in using the potty. They tell me when they are going to the bathroom and frequently ask for "privacy", but when asked if they want to use the potty it is a very polite, "No, thank you".  I haven't pushed it because I know when they are ready they will let me know.

We have however started asking more frequently and they are showing a bit more interest so we made potty charts and purchased the beloved Skittles and Jelly Beans.

 Kate and Wright had a great first year at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Learning Center. They really loved their teacher and all their little friends! I was very interested to see how they would interact with each other in a larger group setting. They enjoyed having snack at the same table, but didn't have to sit by each other during circle time. Wright liked to be at the front of the room, near the teacher, answering all the questions and Kate was fine hanging towards the back.  On the playground they didn't necessarily play together, but their teachers said that they were always very familiar with where the other was and constantly checked on each other! So sweet! Love that they have each other.

Little Gym Show Day

Kate and Wright have really enjoyed Little Gym! They love running, swinging, playing with balls, bubbles and especially their teacher Mr. Graham. It has been so fun to watch them develop through these classes. At the beginning they were more subdued and now happily tell their names, do activities in front of the class and love to be the first to try a new activity.
