Changes

Well 18 months has been like expected....decreased appetite and the start of temper tantrums, but also lots of new words and sweet kisses and hugs! Kate has been saying brother for some time, but Wright will now respond with either sisr (sister) or ate (kate). He also refers to himself as ight (Wright) and points to his chest. They repeat almost anything and can name items in their books or sounds they hear like airplane or goose. Kate likes to sing and they both love to dance. We have started to watch either Sesame Street or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and they LOVE to dance to MM theme song, Kate runs to the TV and starts moving her hands and they both stomp their feet. Then they both lose interest until the end of the show when the music starts again. They also enjoy dancing to the music that Kate's teacup plays...more stomps, claps and big grins!

This past weekend we laid low because Wright and Will were not feeling well. It turns out that we now all have a bad cold and Kate and Wright are on an antibiotic. Their little coughs are so bad and I wish I could show them how to clear their throats, but hopefully we are on the mend. So with the boys not feeling great Saturday, Kate and I packed up and headed to the farmers market downtown! We had a great time just the two of us! She loves to people watch and enjoyed looking at all the vendors and trying fun foods. She had a pickle, carrot and ginger soup and almost went into the jump castle. She pointed to it and fortunately one was empty so I was going to let her try, but she was not ready for the solo trip in...maybe next time! She did enjoy the music! We also went out with the Manheimer's Sunday afternoon on their boat! Kate and Wright had not been since last summer and we weren't sure what they would think, but they both loved it! Wright was able to drive with daddy and Kate enjoyed sitting in the front feeling the wind. They also played in the sprinkler in the back yard and the baby pool. Fun times!

Wright playing at the park...gotcha!

Washing Kate's hair
They say, "nite nite" and give kisses...one of the sweetest things they do together!
They are constantly laughing at each other and "talk"

Kate was feeling great Saturday so while Wright took a longer nap she had Mommy and Daddy's full attention! We filled the baby pool and put it under her slide. She had a great time sliding into her pool! She is not afraid to try new things!

One, two, three..go!

Later...loving the sprinkler!

Happy half year birthday Kate and Wright!

18 months old today, so hard to believe! What beautiful, precious children the Lord has blessed us with!

Easter 2011

I feel so behind on updating our blog with the fun memories over the last few weeks. We have had great visits from family and have made some wonderful lasting memories!

To start, our play group did an Easter egg hunt at Alhambra Hall. The kids were more interested in the bubbles, but it was fun to get everyone together!

Love this picture of Kate!
Bubbles and an egg....
What's this all about?

On Good Friday, we drove to Sumter to enjoy some time with the Dinkins Family! Mr. Dinkins had just returned from Africa on a mission trip and we were glad to have him home safely. They hosted an egg hunt and cookout for all the grandchildren and even with stormy weather it did not disappoint. Lots of crafts, eggs to hunt and great company filled the afternoon. Kate and Wright enjoyed being with everyone and are starting to get the hang of "hunting eggs"

Wright and Camden "hugging" so cute! Those two will be trouble together in another 6 months....good trouble!
My mother came to town to spend Easter with us and we enjoyed a relaxing weekend. We had a beautiful service at East Cooper and then headed to brunch at 17 North. All was well until Wright was tired of waiting for our food and threw a bread plate, thankfully it didn't hurt anyone...our food came pretty quickly afterwards!

We have had such a fun, busy last few weeks and I have fallen behind on our posts. Kate and Wright are quickly approaching 18 months and continue to amaze us! Each day brings something new in our household. It may be a word, mannerism or a new way to pitch a fit, but we wake each morning with gratitude and excitement!

We went to visit my family in Athens and enjoyed playing with our grandparents, great grandparents and cousins!

She had lots of fun cooking for everyone
So sweet of Kate "feeding" brother Cheerios...he just wanted to put them all in the bottle

Kate and Wright love little gym and have so much fun! Kate loves exploring all the activities during free time and Wright anxiously awaits playing with the balls and bubbles...here he is running when Mrs. Lindsey goes to take the balls out! For those of you familiar with Little Gym you start the class with a song and an activity (rolls or wheelbarrow, walking in a circle etc) and then you have a period of time where the kids can explore and come back at the end to play with balls, blow BUBBLES and sing a song. At my house when I sing, Bye Bye little birdies we'll see you soon...both Kate and Wright put their hand over their mouths and go "Oh, Oh Oh" just like in class!
Blurry, but had to catch him running to the balls!

Kate enjoys walking on the balance beam
Wright not so much.....
